Our camp out of the month will be to Fort Casey. On this camp out we will be letting the scouts take over in order for them to get their Camping merit badge. On this camp out we will need all scouts to bring Hobo dinners and dehydrated meals for lunch, and breakfast items if you have been asked to bring them. for Breakfast we will be having what we call meat lovers pancakes with oranges. Scouts are all accountable for the ten essentials which include:

  1. Sun protection
  2. rain protection
  3. trail food
  4. map and compass
  5. fire starters
  6. first aid
  7. Pocket knife
  8. Extra clothes
  9. Flashlight
  10. Water
Remember warm clothing it may rain and be cold. Our activities will include working on the camping merit badge, ultimate Frisbee, bocce ball, touring the fort, and capture the flag, and predator vs. prey. This is also an opportunity for some of the older boy to revisit one of their most favorite campsite. For the boys, here are some pics from the last visit to Fort Casey

WELCOME SCOUTS & PARENTS

Welcome to the Green River Ward's Boy Scout Blog!  This is our newest attempt to keep everyone up to date and informed of the happenings, events, schedules and fun that our scouts are having.  Please share this with your family members so they can keep up with their FAVORITE scouts.

Tonight we are reviewing where the boys are in the scouting program, what requirements are missing, needed and have been accomplished.  (March 8, 2011)

Next week is Board of Reviews and Scoutmaster Conferences!  Remember to wear your uniform and bring your scout books, binders or worksheets!  (March 15, 2011)

Our goal is to update this blog weekly, and keep everyone informed of upcoming events, camp outs, service projects, opportunities and fun things going on!  Hopefully we will figure out how to post pictures, videos and other great items for your scouting enjoyment.
